F.A.Q.s

Hello, parents and students! Below we’ve grouped together all the questions we can think of, with in-depth answers to each. Should you come up with an inquiry that we have not yet answered, don’t hesitate to reach out!

What’s the age limit to participate?

We encourage students of all ages from Grades K-12 to participate. Children will be separated into groups correspondent to their age (and creative outlet of choice; e.g writers, painters), which we believe breeds the most welcoming environment for all involved.

Must every child be accompanied by an adult?

We highly encourage this, but we understand that it’s not always possible. Parents and adults will have their own designated section, complete with coffee and refreshments, so they can mingle among themselves while the younger ones engage in activities!

How long do the meetings last?

We’ll always aim to keep our meetings around one hour long to remain respectful to the venue and the parents/students with busy schedules. We’re aware that one hour can pass very swiftly, which is why we urge all our participants to arrive on time! To view our schedule of planned meetings and exact times, please click here.

The meeting location seems a big strange…

Upon looking up our meeting address, you’ll find it is a banquet hall on Sherman Way. Our co-founder Lilit has spent multiple summers (and hundreds of hours) volunteering there and has developed close connections with the manager and staff: luckily, we’ve been able to snag an hour here and there throughout the summer to host our meetings. Our workshop will occupy only a certain area of the hall, and our meetings will never coincide with banquet events.

How will this workshop help me or my child?

Creativity is a virtue: a praiseworthy skill that can always be improved. Even through an outlet like writing, it’s not easy to bring our thoughts into the material world. Our founders have been creatively writing, drawing, and painting for over ten years and decided it was time to share their tips, feedback, and support to those who may not be able to access the resources they need to truly flourish. Through group activities, open communication and all-inclusive lectures, our students will be given everything they need to continue their journey as effective writers or artists.

How much does this workshop cost?

It’s free! As a youth-led nonprofit aiming to educate and inspire the next generation, participation in our activities will never cost you a dime: however, we do plan to host fundraisers in the future. In that case, we can’t promise anything free.

Can I get involved as a student volunteer?

Of course! Please contact kindlecreativityla@gmail.com to inquire about volunteer positions or visit this link. Leadership positions require an application. Please note we are only accepting high school applicants! Depending on your high school’s policy, you can get official volunteer hours for participating. We look forward to reviewing your application.
